Tom Haren Wins the Republican Primary

PARMA, OHIO – Tom Haren, candidate for State Senate District 23, has overwhelmingly prevailed in the Republican primary election, receiving more than 80% of the vote.

“I am incredibly moved by the support I have received throughout this primary race,” Haren said. “I know that we could never have succeeded without the hard work of my family, friends, and all of our campaign volunteers.”

“I also know that none of this would be possible without the love and support of my wife, Carla. She is my rock, my most trusted advisor, and the most important person in my life.”

“Today the people in our District spoke decisively in favor of an inclusive Republican Party,” Haren continued. “Our campaign of economic liberty and personal freedom will offer a stark contrast to the big-government philosophy of the current incumbent.”

Haren has consistently geared his campaign toward a platform that can win in the November general election. He has advocated for lower taxes and streamlined government regulations to help Ohio businesses continue to grow the state’s economy.

Notably, he has also focused his message on taking meaningful steps to combat systemic poverty. He believes that sustainable and continuing reductions in poverty rates can be accomplished by, among other things, offering tax incentives to companies willing to expand into low-income areas, rehab vacant properties, and to train and hire community residents.

“We can make real progress by getting government out of the way,” said Haren. “We cannot regulate and tax our communities out of poverty – authentic change requires a vibrant local economy.”

Tom lives in Parma with his wife, Carla, and their daughter, Monica. He works as an attorney in Westlake with the law firm of Seeley, Savidge, Ebert & Gourash Co., L.P.A. In addition to running for the Ohio State Senate, Tom is involved with the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the Cleveland-Marshall Solo Practice Incubator Advisory Council.

The current State Senator for the 23rd District is Michael J. Skindell, who resides in Lakewood.
